Selection tools

To select an area, you can use the following tools - then Copy/Cut/Delete the selection. 

• Rectangle
• Oval Marquee

Before you select an area, set the Edge to "Anti-alias" or "Feather".

You can draw around an area like this...

• You click on the color of the area you want to get rid of, like when you have a white background...
• Then Delete to get rid of the selected area.

If you have that color in the part you want to keep, or if you have more than one shade of a color that you want to get rid of, play with the Tolerance levels when selecting.

Once you've selected something, you can get rid of the dotted lines ("marching ants") with CTRL+D (Deselect).
