Lady with Shadow

Open the following photo in Fireworks.

Then copy the picture of the woman below and paste into the same document.

Use the Magic Wand (anti-alias) to select the blue area and Delete (want transparent background).

Delete the black part too.

Deselect (Ctrl+D) so you can see it without the dotted lines. Add white background to check there are no extra bits of blue/black. You can see there are parts to delete.

Use Lasso or Eraser to delete. Just be careful near the head and boots that you don't delete too much.Don't forget to delete the blue bit between the arms with the Magic Wand.

Double click off with the black arrow and select the lady. The blue outline should be near the lady. If it's larger, then there are small bits of black you still need to erase.

Copy & paste into the Well photo. Move lady to the left side.

Name the layer "lady".

Make a copy of the lady, name the layer "lady copy". Place it to the right of the picture.

FILTERS>Adjust Color>Color Fill – change color to black.

Make a copy of this layer, "lady copy 2", placing on top of original lady (on left).

Hide the other lady copy.

Skew "lady copy 2" to get the legs/feet from lady to wall area. 

Use the Rectangular Marquee (anti-alias) to select the shadow on the right that's above the wall and delete it.

Move the top of the body into place above the legs from the other lady copy.

Delete below the wall from the shadow on the right. Make sure the skirt bottom is lined up with the other skirt bottom.

Move the shadows so they fit - you may have to adjust the top of bottom.

Now combine the shadows into one layer. Select both layers in the layers panel and Flatten Selection (Layer option menu on top right of panel or under Modify).

Add Gaussian Blur (radius 7) under FILTERS. Set the opacity of the shadow to 70%.

Now move the shadow layer underneath original lady.

Select lady and shadow and move more to the center.
